Winter Fellowship Training - Day 4

Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha
On Day 4, the focus was primarily on leadership and capacity development. The day started with an exceptionally motivational, and interactive discussion moderated by Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha, Founder of 9.9 Mediaworx, Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB) and Co-Founder of Asoka University.

Dr. Sinha led the entire team to think about what makes leaders “leaders”. Dr. Sinha helped the discussion converge to the point that: Leaders are those who have achieved breakthrough results that are beyond the average performance bringing sustainable positive change. Dr. Sinha also spoke on followership, alignment of teams and role of trust in bringing alignment.

Following the leadership talk, all the State Teams shifted their focus on Capacity Development. In this session, the various groups worked on building a problem tree and later established a cause and effect relationship between the problems faced in their respective States. Post-lunch the teams flipped the problem tree and built a action-result based solution tree which helped the State teams identify key priorities to address the root causes for the various problems identified. This exercise provided an opportunity for everyone to share, learn and illustrate problems and solutions that their respective teams face in the States.

Further to identification of the key priorities, state teams started to develop a capacity building road map to build specific capacities in field team for the next 2 years.

Towards the end of the day, the state teams, comprising of RPM and MT, presented the successes and challenges of the programme in their respective States. The Assam team pleasantly surprised the group by also presenting a short movie on the Assam teacher training experiences.
