RFP - Digital Teacher Resource Library

Please find below a request for proposals for the creation of a digital teacher resource library.

We aim to create a digital library of videos and other supporting materials that will be directly accessible on the WebBox as well as on any other technology available to teachers (for example in school computer labs). This will provide teachers with instant support both in technological know-how as well as with the necessary pedagogy.

We are seeking an innovative content partner to assist us in conceptualising and creating a set of videos for the digital resource library.

About Learn, Out of the Box

Pratham Education Foundation (Pratham) has partnered with the Vodafone Foundation to launch a program in 1000 low-income schools across 12 states of India.

The program aims to enrich the classroom experience of both teachers and students by diversifying teaching and learning activities. The ultimate goal is to improve the learning outcomes of students – by focusing on understanding and application of concepts.

As a part of the program, we provide teachers with the following:
  • A technology tool with curriculum aligned content
  • All supplementary hardware
  • A teacher training program
  • On-going guidance and lesson-planning support
  • Technical troubleshooting.

The technology we provide is called a WebBox. It is essentially a smart phone repackaged as a keyboard – serving as a low cost smart class platform. The WebBox has AV cables that plug into a television, which is a part of the hardware package provided to schools. Additionally, it is internet-enabled through a SIM card.

The WebBox is equipped with a learning application for the classroom that contains curriculum- aligned digital content. This includes videos, slideshows, and classroom activity ideas that are stored directly on the WebBox and can be used by the teacher both within the classroom and during lesson planning.

Digital Resource Library

  • To use technology as a tool for ongoing teacher support;
  • To provide teachers with access to instant technical trouble-shooting;
  • To enable teachers to continuously reflect on training sessions;
  • To provide teachers with on-going pedagogical support and demonstrations of application.

Project Details

The digital library of videos and supporting materials will be made directly available on the WebBox, as well as on any other technology available to teachers (for example in school computer labs). The library will comprise three main categories of resources:
  • Training Resources

  • Sample Lessons
A set of live sample lesson videos that demonstrate how the WebBox can be integrated into the classroom. This set of video can later be expanded with lessons by teachers within the initiative.
