Management Fellows

Brajesh Kumar - Himachal Pradesh

Brajesh has completed his B.Comm from Lucknow University. He is from Lucknow, where he used to volunteer to teach vulnerable children when he was in college. Brajesh subsequently joined the Gandhi Fellowship and worked in capacity building and educational leadership with head-masters in several Government schools in Rajasthan. He looks forward to joining the Pratham management fellowship and the Learn, Out of the Box team where he hopes to have the opportunity to enable youth and teachers for education innovations and leadership. Brajesh also has a keen interest in exploring new places, riding bikes, reading books and writing poetry.

G. Malla Reddy - Management Fellow

Malla Reddy, from Hyderabad, has been working in the development sector for the past one and a half decades in the state of Andhra Pradesh, in various capacities. He has worked with the M. V. Foundation, Action Aid India, Naandi Foundation, and Magic Bus India Foundation and has been contributing towards children’s rights through education. He believes that education plays a crucial role in preserving rights and entitlements of any child, irrespective of distinctions. 

Malla Reddy has an M.A. in Sociology and B.P.Ed. Belonging to the Mahaboobnagar district of Telangana region, he comes from an agrarian background. Starting of as a camp teacher in M.V. Foundation, Malla Reddy has steadily climbed the ladder of success and reached his present position as a leader in the Learn, Out of the Box programme  

Gyan Shree - Uttarakhand

Gyan has completed his education from the University of Delhi and the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management, Hyderabad. Professionally, he was employed by Iffco Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd. as Manager-Underwriter for the last 5 years.

Then one day he felt that there is more to life than managing and analyzing risks. His desire to contribute, instead of only consuming, led to his choice to work in the development sector. The education sector was his first choice, as was Pratham.

Gyan is an avid traveller and has spent most of his weekends in the mountains. Photography too interests him, as does meeting new people, and learning about their customs and culture.

Indu Pallav Dutta - Assam

Indu believes that access to quality education is a stepping stone for the bottom of the pyramid to jump across the income divide. Masters from Hyderabad School of Economics, he has previously worked with Gray Matters Capital, in an innovative school ratings project for Affordable Private Schools in India. His hobbies include cooking, football, travel and music.

Kumodkant Choudhary - Bihar

Kumod has completed his post-graduation in development studies and Economics, his core competencies being in financial markets and business development. Further he has extensive teaching experience at the +2 level and also comprehensive exposure to various domains of social sectors especially in research, livelihoods, tribal issues, and decentralisation. Kumod has designed policy frameworks for the Government of Gujarat for delivering micro-insurance products to members of SHGs. 

Additionally he has conceptualised, designed and directed two documentary films - ‘Exploring Bottom-Line’, Parts I and II, on the socio-economic conditions of bottom-of-the-pyramid communities in Odisha. These films competed in the ‘DokWok-LIEPZIG documentary film festival-2013’ in Germany and were a part of ‘SIAMA-2013 doc film contest’. Kumod has also authored a book on impact of the World Trade Organisation and has further edited a book on the relationship of cognitive knowledge in the context of agriculture and livestock. He has been awarded for his ideas on the digital divide by BSNL at a regional level. Kumod has a keen interest in public policy, and re-engineering processes to get advanced solution for critical social problems in rural and urban India.

Smita Routh - Jharkhand

Smita was born and brought up in rural West Bengal. She completed her engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering and joined an IT firm where she worked for five years as a developer. In 2011, Smita changed streams and joined Teach for India where she taught in a low-income private school in Pune. Wanting to further explore the education in rural India, Smita decided to apply to the Pratham Education Fellowship and now heads the program in Jharkhand.

Vikram Pal - Uttar Pradesh

Vikram has a Masters in Computer Application and 8 years of professional experience in dealing with educational institutions across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan. During these 8 years he has worked closely with teachers, educational functionaries and key stakeholders of school processes. He has also worked with both government and private schools to conduct workshops to understand the scope and potential to use technology to deliver curricula, and on how to prepare teachers and teacher educators to creatively use technology in their classrooms.

Vikram worked with Pathbreakers Communication Services Pvt. Ltd. from June 2012 to April 2013 as Senior Manager – Sales & Operations. Prior to this he worked with Educomp Solutions Ltd. from 2009 to May 2012 where he served as Senior Trainer for Haryana.

Bikash Ch Bhandary Chetry - Assam

Bikash joined Pratham in May, 2013 for the 'Learn, Out of the Box' program. Prior to joining Pratham, he was pursuing his M.A (Education) from Azim Premji University, Bangalore. He holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from University of Delhi. He has interned, during his Masters, with Rishi Valley School, Chitoor (A.P), Azim Premji Foundation, Udhamsinghnagar (U.K) and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) Bangalore. His major interests in education are continuing professional development of teachers, ICT for Education and educational policies. He is fond of reading fiction, travelling and writing poems.

Durgesh Tiwari -  New Delhi

Although Durgesh has just given his final year exam of his B.Com from Delhi University he has been working with the Pratham Education Foundation for the last three years. Durgesh joined Pratham in 2010 as a Mathematics teacher after which he began to teach English. Durgesh began working with the Learn, Out of the program in 2012 as an RPA in Delhi. After a promising 1 year with the program, he was selected as the Master Trainer for Delhi.

Nayan Mehrotra - Rajasthan

Nayan has a Master's in Education from the Azim Premji University, Bangalore. As part of her university program she interned in Aksharnandan School, Pune, with a focus on studying alternative school curriculum and its creative and innovative approaches of teaching and learning. Additionally, Nayan has carried out work in the field, in Vidhya Bhawan, Udaipur and the Rishi Valley School, Andhra Pradesh. In the former school, her focus was on observing the basic education curriculum, while in the latter she studied the RIVER project and also examined the philosophy of Krishnamuthi on education. Nayan has also volunteered in the Prayas Integrated School, Jaipur.

Nidhi Vyas -Jharkhand

Nidhi completed her Engineering (Electronics and Communication) from U.P. Technical University in 2012 and was placed in Infosys. She has been involved with various NGOs, CSR initiatives etc. through her college days. She has also volunteered with Teach India, Teach For India, Evidyaloka, Ashadeep Foundation, and the Pratham Talk Centre. Driven by her passion for teaching and an urge to explore and work in the development-education sector, Nidhi quit Infosys and decided to follow a new path.

S. Gangadhar - Andhra Pradesh

Gangadhar is qualified with a double M.A. in Political Science and Sociology B.Ed. He is also currently completing an M.A. diploma in Health and Nutrition. He has 7 years of work experience in the development sector. After starting his career as a volunteer with Nehuru Yuvakendra, he went on to coordinate projects in various fields including legal rights, domestic violence, family counseling, child labour education, health awareness, vocational training and more. He comes to the Learn, Out of the Box programme from the Magic Bus India Foundation where he worked as a training-cum-monitoring officer. Gangadhar is fluent in Telegu and proficient in English and Hindi as well. Being from Andhra Pradesh he is familiar with the culture and tradition there. He joins us as a Master Trainer having participated in curriculum development for the last three years.

Shadab Ahmed - Bihar

Shadab has worked with Aide-et-Action as a Centre-in-charge for their livelihoods program and had designed the course content for the Sales and Marketing, and the Personality Development course. Additionally, he has been working as an Assistant Professor for Marketing for the last six years. Shadab has also served as the Placement head, Academic Head and Activity-in-charge at various colleges. He has a keen interest in research related to Education and Marketing. Additionally, he has presented research papers on the education system at Government schools at National and International conferences – one of which has been published at the International level.

Swarnali Das - Uttarakhand

Swarnali have completed her MSc in Applied Microbiology from BHU and an MSW from MSSISW, Nagpur. She also has three years of teaching experience in CBSE School, Bhopal. Her strong interest in the education sector as well as in social work led her to apply for the Pratham Education Fellowship.

She believes strongly in the role education plays in moulding youth and working towards the growth and development of society. Thus, she is very excited to work as a teacher trainer - to help teachers have a positive impact on students using technology to promote activity based learning.
